The FaderLux Viewing Glass is a versatile accessory designed for Directors of Photography (DOPs), Gaffers, Electricians, and First Assistant Directors (ADs). Its multifunctional capabilities make it an essential tool for various tasks such as checking contrast settings, adjusting lamps, calculating F Stop/ND values, and determining cloud-sun intervals.

When set to its darkest position, the FaderLux Viewing Glass provides 99% UV protection. The density of the viewing glass is adjustable through a knurled ring, allowing users to choose the desired level of translucence. A scale, ranging from 1.5 to 7, is engraved on the fixed ring, indicating the number of stops by which light transmission is reduced.

The current setting can be easily read using the mark on the knurled ring. The scale on the Viewing Glass corresponds to the ND scale as follows:

1.5 = ND 0.3 - 0.45

2 = ND 0.6

3 = ND 0.9

4 = ND 1.2

5 = ND 1.5

6 = ND 1.8

7 = ND 2.1

This feature simplifies the measurement of required ND levels, particularly for gels and filters. Additionally, the FaderLux Viewing Glass accommodates 52mm photographic filters, such as extra ND filters or color filters for assessing green and blue screen settings or black and white contrasts.

Despite the additional filters, the Viewing Glass remains slim and easy to handle.
